Our first reading TEST will be on Friday, September 6th. The review sheet came home on Thursday (8/29)-- it is a yellow 1/2 sheet of paper.
We will be reviewing in class on Thursday (9/5), we will be using the app SOCRATIVE, so if you child has a device with SOCRATIVE STUDENT loaded on it, they may bring that to school on THURSDAY for the review day. (see picture for what the app looks like) Socrative Student is a free app that we will use all year in 2nd grade.
In reading class this week, we will also be working on how to tackle tricky words in our reading. We will learn to use context clues and other helpful strategies in our reading.

Writing --
Wednesday, we will have our HIGH FREQUENCY WORD written assessment. Students should be studying the starred words so that they can spell them correctly and use them in a self generated sentence. Their sentences must have proper punctuation and capitalization.
We will also be working on our writing pieces this week. Students will be looking at ways to add to their stories and working on reading their pieces as readers to see if it is the best it can be!
